Everyone Needs a Trickle Tray

by R.B. Quinn and Min Merrell

I’ve become increasingly less tolerant of over-designed kitchen utensils and appliances.  Everything is over stainless-steeled and has too many settings. I’m at the stage where I think very carefully whether something new deserves kitchen space so I’m thrilled to report that I’ve found something that does!  It’s a trickle tray that we found in the Asian grocery strore.  A trickle tray is an easy way to wash fresh produce and allow it to drain without making a watery mess all over the counter.  It’s like a shallow colander with a solid base.  I love it.  I find myself reaching for it all the time.  They had them in all sizes.  Mine is about 14 inches in diameter in a lovely lime green.  Only costs $7.99 and worth every penny.

Now I’m thinking about other sizes and colors.
