easy deviled egg recipe

Cheater Chef offers 17 Easter recipe ideas.  We know deviled eggs are on the menu, but what else?  We’ve looked through the Cheater Chef archives and offer a few suggestions.   First of all, we’ve got easy directions for baking your own ham, probably the cheapest and easiest meat to cook.  If you’re thinking lamb, we’ve got lamb chops.  Sides–you’ll need some kind of potato like potato salad or au gratin potatoes.  We also adore little twice-baked russets.  Maybe stone ground cheesy grits suit you.  Biscuits or cornbread?   We’re thinking something lemony for dessert.  Pair it with fresh strawberries.  Leftover ham–make a big chopped salad the next day.

How to Cook a Ham  Forget honeybaked.  You can easily bake your own ham.

Simple Grilled Lamb Chops  Make these for a romantic Easter dinner.

Twice Baked Potatoes  Get small russets.  They’re the deviled eggs of potatoes

Deviled Eggs  You’ve got to have these.

Creole Cumin Green Beans  Green beans with onions, tomato, green peppers and cumin.

Nuked Potatoes  If you opt for potato salad, nuke the potatoes so they aren’t water logged.

Lemon Chess Tart  We like lemon desserts for Easter.  This thin tart is very elegant.

Lemon Buttermilk Pudding Cake  Pudding cake is lemony and delicious but you don’t need pastry.

Lemon Curd  Just make a quick curd and dollop it over fresh berries and store-bought angel food cake.

Mimosa Cocktail Shortcut  Start off Easter brunch with a mimosa.  We use a dollop of frozen orange juice concentrate.

Stone Ground Grits  You can never go wrong with grits and ham.

Deviled Ham Spread  Chop up that leftover ham and make your own ham salad for sandwiches and appetizers.

Au Gratin Potatoes  Make the real thing that tastes almost as good as the kind that came from the box!

Creamed Peas  Creamy peas are always welcome on the holiday table.

Southern Skillet Cornbread  Cornbread is fantastic with ham especially if you plan to serve some beans.

Angel Biscuits  You need a little yeast in your biscuits for ham biscuits so they taste better cold.

Big American Chopped Ham Salad  The day after, a big crunchy chopped salad with leftover ham rocks.
